It’s been a great week for the team in La Trinité, France, and the most competitive World Cup in almost 15 years with teams showing up from all over the world.
8 races were completed and it really went down to the wire. We sailed solidly all the way through and our worst was a 7th which meant that we had secured the silver before the last race. The home port favorites and four time world champions FRA-177 a.k.a Junior had an even more strong series and were two points ahead before the last race.
A match race in the fleet race was therefor a given and after the start things looked pretty sweet for Sophie Racing but the wind died during the first downwind and the race was shortened to our disadvantage.
Anyway, the French team sailed extremely well and really deserved the gold.
Next year we are home port favorites so you can already guess what’s gonna happen
The Vice World Champions in the 6M: Hugo Stenbeck, Àlvaro Marinho, Bernardo Freitas, Stu Argo and Martin Westerdahl.
